Fabulous Florets

Hello stampers!
Know what?  When I first saw this set in the new mini, I thought  "I don't need another flower set"....then I did a swap with Shelly and got these 2 cards and changed my mind!!  AND they stamp SO WELL!  By that, I mean they REALLY pick up the ink and give a GREAT clean image!  Plus, there is a matching Designer paper called "Beyond the Garden".  This set is going to be in the new Idea Book Catalogue, also, so it will have a long life!  The possibilites are endless  :-)
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

"Bliss" card

Hello stamping friends!
This stamp set, "Bliss", is one that you can get FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 order (until the end of March).  Ya know, when I first saw this set, I thought it was nice-but couldn't picture how I would use it...
Then, I saw some cards made with it and fell in love!  I will post another card using it next (we did it at the last make & take here) and it became a favorite of my friends (so of course, they wanted to get it free, also!)
The Desinger paper used here is "Newsprint" and it goes so well with the Vintage sets that are so popular now.       By the way, I didn't make this card, I took a pic of it at Regionals....
Thanks for stopping by!

Playing with some new stuff!

Hello friends!  Today, I want to share with you a card I made that uses the idea from a necklace that we made at Leadership.  It also uses the new "tulip" embossing folder.  The stamp set is "Clearly For You". The glare from the picture takes away the details on the birds--I did put glimmer paint on them. (but not so obvious in person!)  Also, I dyed the lace ribbon with ink to match, using a daubler.
Have a great day!

Cheers to You!

Sorry about the quality of this pic!  But maybe you can see that it's a shaker card with dyed marguarita salt in it!  There is a window sheet over some sticky foam that surrounds the glass--and it keeps the salt in.  We made this at our last make & take--and of course had Marguaritas while we made it!

My sister was visiting with her 3 kids from Michigan and just left on Tues--it was so much fun to see them!  Jocelyn, 11, is quite the stamper!  Today, my daughter arrives from Chicago for the weekend.  So I'd better go get some stamping done now!

Wine and bread--my fave!

Hello!  Are you surviving the heat?  Our AC broke yesterday and it's an oven upstairs!  Luckily, we have the downstairs one working and the guy is here now putting in a new one.  There goes any trips we had wanted to take for a while!  Boy, are AC's expensive!

Anyway, this is one of the cards we made last Friday at the make & take.  It was such a fun group and fun time!  I brought out the pastels and blender pens for this one--and served wine and loaves of bread and butter!  This set is from the new catalog and allows watercoloring in any form.

Off to Stampin' Up convention in Salt Lake City tomorrow!  Can't wait! I'll be back with lots of new ideas to share!

Hydrangea in blue

This is one of the cards we are making tonight at the make & take...AND you can get it for FREE if you host a workshop!!  I watercolored it with my aquapainter in Bashful Blue and Marina Mist (also the cardstock used).  Accented with Rose cs.  This is a combo I got from the new Color Chart from SU--don't you love the colors together? You can't tell from the pic, but I also added some glitter on the flower in the centers....
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Elements of Style

This stamp set is from the summer mini catalog...Tina, my friend and downline, made these 2 cards--aren't they beautiful?  Two entirely different cards from the same set!  I haven't bought this set yet, but I'm going to now!

I've been MIA for about a week because I was teaching a Scrapbooking class at the Barstow Summer Enrichment Program...now I'm waiting for my parents to arrive!  Busy Busy!

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT 4th!!!!

Herb Expressions

Happy Father's Day to all dads out there!
We did something a little different at the make & take this weekend--we made 4 different cards using the same set--and they are great for a gift set or just to use..I LOVE this set!  And it's the perfect time of year to send cards using it!  There are 4 different herbs and an "expression" for the saying.  This is the Thyme one and also the lavender one inside and out.  We colored with markers, and watercolored with the aquapainter on some.  Even the envies were stamped and colored!
Thanks for looking and check back tomorrow for more posts...Have a great day!

Card to match gift bag

We made this at our last make & take...everyone had a gift bag (there were 2 choices) and they had to create a card to match the bag!  Some of the girls got very creative and it was fun to see what they came up with!  Everything was punched, except a stamped saying inside.
I am hardly waiting for my order to arrive from SU with new stamps sets and the new catalog!!!

Can't think of a title!

I'm so tired that I can't think of a title for this!  Pretty sad, huh?  It's a triptech (3 panel) card using a repetitive design.  I think the glitter makes all of the difference!
My trip home was not successful-am so disappointed.  Having to "Call in my sisters" for help!
Hope your week is a good one!
Anxious to stamp again!

Stencil using Bird Punch

This is similar to one I posted earlier--with a twist.  I used Pacific Point blue cs and Soft Suede.  Also used the new texture folder and scallop border punch.  This is one of my convention swaps!
I am leaving tomorrow to drive to Naperville, Il to visit my parents--back on Sunday....So I will be MIA again for a few days!  Not a fun trip--have to get my dad to sign up for Home Health Care for my mom (and he doesn't know that I planned 2 appointments for us!)
Have a great week and check back on Monday for another post!

Goodbye Yoyo Yellow!

I hate to see yoyo yellow retire because yellow and black make such a fun card!  This is a card we made at the last make & take.  I used the flower from the Pretties kit and stamped on it from the Circle Circle stamp set.  The inside of the card and the middle of the flower is also stamped from that set.  I used the NEW lattice texture plate on the strips on the front.  I love it!  This is such a cheerful card!
Thanks for looking!

April Showers, Spring Flowers

What beautiful days we've been having!  This month's make & take includes some flower cards--well, it's the perfect time of year!  I actually planted some flowers (and I have a black thumb, not green!)

These are 3 of the things we are making for the upcoming make & take this weekend.  (If you haven't made your reservation, please do so asap so that I can start cutting-thanks!)
On top, you can see the 2 little gift cards that are perfect to add on a gift bag.  And the other is the "black magic" technique--it can be for Mother's Day or Birthday.  This technique is stamping the image in craft white ink and coloring it with watercolor pencils.  It is embellished with SU's white gel pen. I also used a new Die Cut that I just bought (oval scallop).
Next to it is another card we will be making.  Can you see the frosted shimmer on the embossed left of the card?  The tulip is made from the wings of the bird punch!  I just LOVE that punch!
And as you can see, I didn't post the 4th item.  I'm not too thrilled with how the milk carton idea came out and am in the process of designing another card--you will just have to come and see what it is!

Bird Punch as a stencil...

I ordered this bird punch from Stampin' Up as soon as it was available to order--it is so fun!  Here, I used the negative space from the punch and daubered ink in it.  I also used the punched branch.  We made this at the make & take this weekend and it was simple yet sweet.  And it didn't even need any glitter!
Thanks for looking!

Another make & take card

Can you tell that the vase is the ornament punch?  I also used one of the new brads on the flower--it matches perfectly, doesn't it?  This card can be used more many  different occasions, I think.
Thanks for looking!

I LOVE Easel cards!

This is my first attempt at an easel card--and I was thrilled how easy it was!  We are doing this at the make & take this weekend.  The pics show it closed, as an easel, and open.
Basically, you want to score an 8 1/2" x 4 pice of cs  lengthwise at 4 1/4 and 6 3/8.  Fold mountain style.  Attach a piece of 4x4 cs at the top of the smaller fold.  This gives you the "easel".  The only other thing that is necessary, is to put a piece of cs at the bottom of the inside so it will stand up (that is the sage shadow scalloped piece here.)  I used the new Sizzlets butterfly die for the butterflies.

Think Spring?

The sun comes out for about 1 second, and I think of Spring!  I know, it's a long way off--but it is fun to make a "Springish" card!  This uses the stamp set we got at convention-I totally forget the name of it-and my catty isn't right here-sorry!  The cs and ink are "in colors" and Old Olive.  I also used the NEW scallop border punch that I got FREE with a $50 order in the Sale-A-Bration brochure!  You can have one, too-just click on the SU catalogue and it will take you to my website where you can place an order.

Sweet Centers

Aren't these neat? There is a plastic cup that fits into the stamped images and you fill it with candy! The stamp set is called "Sweet Centers" and also includes a Valentine and ornament stamp. I tried these for the first time today and they are SO easy! These in the pics are from a display at convention. AND you get 12 cups for $2.95! What a deal! You just need the 1 3/4" circle punch to punch out the center for the cup. Also, they have special padded mailing envies if you want to mail them...
