Make & take preview-Holidays

This cute card uses 2 oval punches for the mittens, the snowflake embossing folder, and the new Designer paper (I just LOVE that glitter on it!)  The stitches are added with a sewing machine (just kidding!  It's the white gel pen!)
I love the simplicity of this card.  The holly is stamped off and there is a pearl in the saying.

Isn't he adorable?  The turkey makes a great place card holder or decoration at your Thanksgiving table...

Make your reservations today for the make & take!

Polar Bear Christmas

This is for you, Theresa!
Polar Bears seem to be quite the rage right now.  So, when I saw this card up at convention, I thought I HAD to make it for some of my Christmas cards.  Well, it's not as easy as it looks! (when you are making a bunch of them!)  Lots of sponging lots of little pieces...But it sure is cute, isn't it?

Countdown til Christmas Boxes

Actually, I think that these nifty boxes could be used for things other than Christmas!  Like B'day, or a special occasion or trip, or any holiday!  They look like Chinese carry-out boxes and come with rope, clothespins, ribbon--everything you need!  There are 25 boxes in all and they are VERY easy to put together--doesn't even require adhesive!     This pic is from my Open House and if you signed up for the club, you got to pick one.  Inside were different things--like a free marker, ink pad, etc.

Halloween M&M treats

Happy Halloween weekend!  These fun "candy sticks" are easy to make and great for classrooms or trick or treaters...I'd ordered the M&M's on line so I could pick my colors, but later realized that you can find them at Michaels for the same price.  The clear bags are from http://www.clearbags.com/  and I have lots of plans for the rest of them!
Be safe this weekend!  And thanks for stopping by!

Paper crafted Topiary

This beautiful topiary was made by friend and sideline, Tammy, for our convention roomie gifts.  The flowers are die cut and punched.  What a pretty decoration and/or gift!  Also in the picture to the top right--a card that DeAnn (downline) made and below, a shadow box that Pam (downline) made (that was a convention roomie gift from 2 years ago).  Don't you wish you were roomies with us at convention?  We get the BEST stuff!

Fall Foliage "man card"

I copied this card from someone (sorry can't remember who!) because I thought it was a great card for a guy's b'day...AND I LOVE this stamp set!  Plus it has a new technique that I wanted to try--stamping with the acrylic block!  It's stamped in Sahara Sand, stamped off and then "rock and rolled" in Expresso (see the square in the middle of the card?)  What a fun way to incorporate the blocks into a collage!  We are making this at the make & take this weekend...

Rudolph, the Red-nosed...OWL?

Have you ever made a card that you liked so much that you can't stop looking at it?  That's how I feel about this one!  And we are making it this weekend at the make & take....I used the Christmas DSP (notice the glitter that comes on the paper?) and the owl punch.  The antlers are from the snowflake punch.  And I added the matching fabric on the right side of the card.  It will say something, but I haven't decided yet!
Hope to see you at the make & take!  And thanks for stopping by!

Thanksgiving card

Good morning!  This is a sneak peek of one of the cards we are making at make & take this weekend.  Can you see the dry embossing behind the leaves?  More to follow in the next few days!

Halloween tree

This is a countdown to Halloween tree from convention.  The candy wrapper die is used, along with waffle paper, bat punch, black lace.
Be sure to check out the clearance rack on my website  http://www.jeriholm.stampinup.net/  before everything is gone!

Stamping weekend at the Embassy

Here we are, taking advantage of the FREE drinks at the Manager's reception before stamping til the wee hours of the night!  It was so much fun! Sadly, I didn't finish all of the projects I took with me to do!  We are also celebrating Elaine's b'day.  These girls are all so funny!  I haven't laughed so hard for ages!  Were doing it again in the Spring--so join us!!!

Fortune Teller Basket

Remember those handheld, folded, open-uppy things that we made as kids that you would pick a number and color and inside was a fortune?  (like "the boy you like, likes you back")  Well, this is made the same way those were, but you use it upside down and make a basket out of it!  Fun, huh?  I added the handle (1/2" piece of cs) and glitter brads and an embellishment.  It calls for a piece of 6x6 (designer paper works the best because it isn't as thick to fold).  These would make great favors, Easter and May Day baskets, etc!
Oh! the possibilities!
Glad you stopped by!

Vintage Christmas

Hello!
This is a tree that I made using the circle scallop dies, chunky glitter around the edges, Xmas DS and fabric, lace ribbon and a votive glass on the bottom.  The beads were some that I had left from another project years ago!  They are all stacked on a thin dowel rod.  I'd thought about making several of these-but to tell you the truth, it was more time consuming than I thought!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Christmas 3x3

Once again, I apologize for the fuzzy pic!  This is such a cute little tag card!  When Pam came over to stamp, she'd found this idea somewhere (and I'm thinking it may be Vicky's blog?).  It's the little tag punch for the fence. and the wreath is made with a flower punch, heart punches and mini circle punch.
Have a great day!

Make & Take preview

Here are 3 of the 4 projects we will be making this weekend at the Make & take!  I LOVE the Monogram set and plan to make these as gifts for family and friends...the new Embossing Folder, "Elegant Lines" really adds alot!  If you don't have it--you need it!
I'm also trying my hand at Vintage cards and tags.  These use the New Designer paper and Bells & Boughs stamp set.  ALSO, the new Distressing kit.  There are SO many new accessories that lend themselves for the  "Vintage" look!  (Waffle paper, lace ribbon, seam binding and more!)
Thanks for stopping by!

A year ago...I was in Paris!

It doesn't seem like a year ago that I was in France!  Sorry about the sideways pic--I don't know how to turn it!  That was taken at Monte Marte before having a glass of wine and frites(french fries!)  The other pic is in front of the  Louvre---which happened to be closed on the day I went to see it!  A reason for going back, I guess!

A Cute Christmas

I made these cards using "A Cute Christmas" stamp set and the coordinating Designer paper (which also matches the fabric!)  Markers were used to color and of course, I added glitter!  I love the colors and the "cutesiness" of them!
Thanks for stopping by!

Medallion Ornament

I took this picture at convention because I loved the idea of making an ornament with the Medallion stamp!  Here, they used the treat cups in the center, filled with Snow Caps.  Wouldn't doing a tree with all different colors of these look pretty?

My Ice Castle from House in Mini

I can't TELL you how much fun I had creating this house!  It's only $5.95, plain, in the current mini catalog.  Want to see it, touch it, feel it in person?  Come to my Open House this Sunday, 9/12 from 1-4!  There will be lots of other fun things to see and free gifts!  I will also have a sign up for a class to make this or your version of how you'd decorate this house.  Do you see a Halloween house? a Gingerbread house?  I did the Ice Palace because I can keep it out during the whole winter!

Cheers to You!

Sorry about the quality of this pic!  But maybe you can see that it's a shaker card with dyed marguarita salt in it!  There is a window sheet over some sticky foam that surrounds the glass--and it keeps the salt in.  We made this at our last make & take--and of course had Marguaritas while we made it!

My sister was visiting with her 3 kids from Michigan and just left on Tues--it was so much fun to see them!  Jocelyn, 11, is quite the stamper!  Today, my daughter arrives from Chicago for the weekend.  So I'd better go get some stamping done now!

Some make & take projects

These are 2 more of the things we made last weekend...at the top, I used the Owl Punch (LOVE IT!) and we made a post-it note holder and 2 extra owls from the punchings (is that a word?).
Underneath is a beautiful white on white card that has dry embossing, scallop and circle punch, new adhesive pearl and is highlighted with some shimmer Smooch paint.  I used my new Score-Buddy to make the lines at the bottom of the card.
Thanks for stopping by!

Diaper Cake

I took this picture from a display at convention because I thought it was a quick way to do a diaper cake!  I love the ones that have all of the stuff like toys and washcloths etc., but they can be pretty pricey and alot of work.  This one looks easy!  And what a great centerpiece at a Baby Shower!  Here, they've wrapped Designer paper around the rolled dipes and added buttons here and there.  The festive top part is just curled stips of matching cardstock!  I know what I'm going to do at the next baby shower!  And at the bottom right, there is a "diaper" favor and paper shoes--cute!

Which Witch is Which?

This is a variation of a card they demoed at convention...I added the lace at the bottom and the new glitter brad. (and of course, glitter on the hats and stockings!)  I LOVE this set!  It's called "Wicked Cool".  And I think the card turned out kinda "wickedly cool", too...don't you?
If you want to make a card like this, come to my Make & take Aug 20th or 22nd (email me for details).

Sweet Pea baby card

Hello stampers!
This adorable card was a swap from convention--and I don't know who to credit because one of my roomies got it and I took a picture of it..If you are out there and see this, tell us who you are so I can give you credit for such a cute card!
She used the oval and 3/4" circle punch (I'm guessing) for the baby.  Highlights were added with the white gel pen.   Isn't it amazing what you can create with punches?
Thanks for stopping by!  I'm going to go play with my new stuff from the mini!

Vintage is IN

Here is a pic of a display board at convention showing some Vintage card samples.  Vintage is really in right now and Stampin' Up has everything you need to make Vintage items--like: designer paper, Distressing kit, stamps, lace, stick-on pearls, etc.  Aren't they beautiful?  I'm excited to "go outside of the box" for myself and try some Vintage cards!

More from convention

Happy Hour at the Monaco!  We came back from  a fun filled day each day and got free wine and hors-dourves at the hotel!  Here Dana, Peggy and I met up with a great friend, Bonnie--who we'd met at Happy hour 3 years ago!  We have met so many great demos here!  And we share ideas and plan where to go for dinner!

Wine and bread--my fave!

Hello!  Are you surviving the heat?  Our AC broke yesterday and it's an oven upstairs!  Luckily, we have the downstairs one working and the guy is here now putting in a new one.  There goes any trips we had wanted to take for a while!  Boy, are AC's expensive!

Anyway, this is one of the cards we made last Friday at the make & take.  It was such a fun group and fun time!  I brought out the pastels and blender pens for this one--and served wine and loaves of bread and butter!  This set is from the new catalog and allows watercoloring in any form.

Off to Stampin' Up convention in Salt Lake City tomorrow!  Can't wait! I'll be back with lots of new ideas to share!

Gift card "Purse"

Hello!
I love this simple, yet create way to give a gift card to a female in your life!  I used the Top Note die, new DSP and new Daffodil Delight cs.  Just cut the trim at the same time you cut the front and back of the purse.  It would also fit a small gift of jewelry or lipstick...
Leaving for convention on Wednesday--can't wait!!

Hydrangea in blue

This is one of the cards we are making tonight at the make & take...AND you can get it for FREE if you host a workshop!!  I watercolored it with my aquapainter in Bashful Blue and Marina Mist (also the cardstock used).  Accented with Rose cs.  This is a combo I got from the new Color Chart from SU--don't you love the colors together? You can't tell from the pic, but I also added some glitter on the flower in the centers....
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Here is one of my swaps for convention using the new level 2 set--I think these guys are so cute!

Notice the textured backgrounds!
More later--thanks for looking!

Herb Expressions

Happy Father's Day to all dads out there!
We did something a little different at the make & take this weekend--we made 4 different cards using the same set--and they are great for a gift set or just to use..I LOVE this set!  And it's the perfect time of year to send cards using it!  There are 4 different herbs and an "expression" for the saying.  This is the Thyme one and also the lavender one inside and out.  We colored with markers, and watercolored with the aquapainter on some.  Even the envies were stamped and colored!
Thanks for looking and check back tomorrow for more posts...Have a great day!

Cupcake from new mini

This is a card that I sent to Peggy for her birthday--it uses the new "Sweet Scoops" from the Summer mini.  Looks like I got kinda heavy with the glitter!  The cherry has Crystal Effects on it.  This is really a fun set to play with!

Card to match gift bag

We made this at our last make & take...everyone had a gift bag (there were 2 choices) and they had to create a card to match the bag!  Some of the girls got very creative and it was fun to see what they came up with!  Everything was punched, except a stamped saying inside.
I am hardly waiting for my order to arrive from SU with new stamps sets and the new catalog!!!

Renewing our vows in Vegas

Yep!  We're back from a whirlwind trip tp Vegas where Elvis renewed our vows for our 25th anniversary!  It was 106 degrees during this picture!    What a fun time!  Elvis was great and we got some fun pics--can't wait to make a scrapbook with them!  Rori was the maid of honor and we each had a pink rose bouquet.
On the other hand, I was hoping to make a bunch of money to help pay for my last order of Stampin' Up supplies and stamps---BUT that didn't happen!
Thanks for stopping by!

Stenciled black and whilte

This card uses the Stampin' Up stencil.  I placed it over the white cs and daubered black ink on it.  It was quick and easy and gives you a classic looking card!  We are doing this card at the make & take this weekend.  Hope to see you there--there are openings on Sunday!

"Manly" card

This is one of the cards we will be making this weekend at the make & take.  It can say "husband" or "brother" or "son" if needed.  I used the Medallian stamp and Soft Suede.  There is also some gold embossing going on!  I love how it stands up, too.  It is sprayed with the new Smooch spray, but looks good without using it, also.
Thanks for looking!
